The Accounting Standards Council has issued one revised FRS, and two new INT FRS
The ASC has issued a revised version of FRS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements for Singapore incorporated companies, effective for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2009. The ASC has also issued 2 new Interpretations of Financial Reporting Standards (INT FRS) for Singapore incorporated companies. INT FRS 113 Customer Loyalty Programmes is effective for annual periods beginning on or after 1 July 2008, and INT FRS 114 FRS 19 – The Limit on a Defined Benefit Asset, Minimum Funding Requirements and their Interaction is effective for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2008.

ICPAS1 The subheading “Report on the Financial Statements” is unnecessary in circumstances when the second subheading
“Report on Other Legal and Regulatory Requirements” is not applicable.

2 In circumstances when the auditor also has responsibility to express an opinion on the effectiveness of internal control in
conjunction with the audit of the financial statements, this sentence would be worded as follows: “In making those risk
assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the entity’s preparation and fair presentation of the
financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances.”
